Have you loved outer space ever since you were a little kid, dreaming of becoming an astronaut when you grew up? Then, it’s only fitting that you share your love for it by having a space background photo on all your tech devices. What do you love most about space? The answer to that question will help you decide what your space wallpaper will be of.
To get you started, we’ve listed multiple websites you can get stellar space background photos from!
Sites To Get Space Background Images From!
1. Hubble Space Telescope

This is the official site for the Hubble Space Telescope, which is a collaboration between the ESA and NASA. The space wallpapers they have available are mind-blowing, unique, and unlike anything else. The one featured above is of a double cluster of stars, which is thought to have been created by a supernova blast.
2. Unsplash
Unsplash is a great site to get one-of-a-kind images that are taken and created by real photographers, which are also free to use. By simply searching “Space” on their site, over 18,000 images appear. This one of a total solar eclipse is truly amazing!
3. Space.com

No better place to get a space background photo than a site whose name is “Space”. You’ll be able to get space wallpapers of everything from asteroids to Jupiter to a black hole (as shown above).
4. Pinterest
Pinterest is known as the place to find almost any image you’re looking for. When I searched “Space Wallpaper”, so many results came up, like real space photos and artistic takes on space.
5. Imgur
Imgur is another great website to find photos of space. While browsing on the site, I found an album devoted to space wallpapers, which included the cycles of the moon image displayed above.

If you’re looking for a real photo of a specific planet, the Sun, small space bodies, or of the entire Universe, NASA’s Photojournal is the place to get it. The one we included above is of a time lapse of Jupiter’s northern hemisphere. It was taken by NASA’s Juno spacecraft.
7. Wallpaperplay
Wallpaperplay provides more futuristic looking space background photos, edited to make the colors more vibrant and feature more eye catching. The photo above reminds me of something I may see in an apocalyptic movie.
8. European Space Agency

Just like with NASA’s website, you can view real images of space, planets, and space shuttles on the European Space Agency’s website. I found the photo above of Terra Cimmeria really interesting.
9. Pexels
Pexels is another free image site similar to Unsplash. You can find real and abstract photos and images of space. This includes planets, galaxies, astronauts, the stars from earth, satellites, and more.
10. The Planetary Society
