Disney made a surprising move when they announced a new release date for the most highly anticipated movie of the year, Avengers: Infinity War. While some studios end up pushing release dates back for their movies, Disney has decided to do the opposite. With what was originally a March 1st release, Avengers: Infinity War will now hit theaters a week earlier, on April 27th. Check out the trailer below to see some of the superheroes in action.
Why The Change?
So far Disney has not offered any explanations as to why they decided to move up the release. Perhaps they are trying to piggyback off the success of the most recent Marvel universe movie, Black Panther. Or maybe they wanted to give the movie a little more time in theaters before the summer. That’s when other highly anticipated sequels and spin-offs will be released (we’re looking at you Deadpool 2 and Solo: A Star Wars Story). Whatever the reason, we’re just glad we get to see the latest Avengers movie a little earlier than expected.
